We are looking forward to an interactive session and lots of opportunities for our congregations to serve when disasters strike. To receive session information, register, and login credentials on the Zoom platform, please email: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">disasterresponse@thenalc.org<\/a>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-default\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/missions.nalcnetwork.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_9720-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3498\" srcset=\"https:\/\/missions.nalcnetwork.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_9720-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/missions.nalcnetwork.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_9720-100x100.jpeg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>NALC Disaster Response Task Force is providing disaster preparedness training at Level One Basic and Level Two Specialized.\u00a0\u00a0These educational workshops will provide training to volunteers in each participating congregation, preparing each to form disaster volunteer teams.\u00a0\u00a0Each Mission District assists in the formation of teams and the preparedness training.\u00a0\u00a0Recognized credentials will be provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Disaster Volunteer training includes components on:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*<strong>Active Shooter\/Church Safety:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Does your church have a safety plan?\u00a0\u00a0Are you prepared for an intruder?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*<strong>Level One <\/strong>(unskilled disaster response for debris removal and basic information on FEMA regulations)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*<strong>Level Two<\/strong> (specialized trainings) including<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Case Management\/Coordinated Assistance Network:  <\/strong>how to identify and track client needs and the assistance they receive <strong>\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>become a volunteer case manager.<\/li><li><strong>Donations Management\/Aid Matrix<\/strong>: how to coordinate and organize donated materials.<\/li><li><strong>Volunteer Management\/Disaster Response Database<\/strong>: how to identify the skills of each volunteer and address risk management issues<strong> \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>form a disaster volunteer team and help rebuild homes.<\/li><li><strong>Spiritual and Emotional Care<\/strong>: how to identify and document qualified volunteers to provide spiritual care \u2013<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>provide spiritual care to those hurting and in need. <\/li><li><strong>Spiritual &amp; Emotional Care: <\/strong>provide an appropriate level of emotional, spiritual, and physical care both to those affected by the disaster and to team members.<\/li><li><strong>Construction Estimating: <\/strong>complete estimates for homes impacted by disaster in preparation for rebuilding and repairing<\/li><li><strong>Congregational Facility Preparedness: <\/strong>prepare congregations before disaster strikes <strong>\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>write a disaster plan for church facilities. <\/li><li><strong>Family Preparedness<\/strong>: prepare families before disaster strikes, construct family preparedness kits <strong>\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>great Sunday School Project! <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>Visit:  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thenalc.org\/disaster\">www.thenalc.org\/disaster<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0for all training materials.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/missions.nalcnetwork.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_5509-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3506\" srcset=\"https:\/\/missions.nalcnetwork.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_5509-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/missions.nalcnetwork.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_5509-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/missions.nalcnetwork.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_5509-768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/missions.nalcnetwork.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_5509-1536x1024.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/missions.nalcnetwork.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_5509.jpeg 1944w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Join us on July 17th from 6:30 &#8211; 8:30 pm and July 18th from 1:00 &#8211; 4:00 PM for NALC Disaster Response Volunteer Training.
