Water Mission – National Day of Prayer
Loving One Another
What a privilege and blessing it is to live in a country where we have the freedom to participate in a National Day of Prayer. Created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed by President Harry S. Truman, the National Day of Prayer is significant because it prompts us to remember how our founding fathers sought the wisdom of God when making decisions. Each year, the first Thursday of May is set aside as a time to pray for our nation and to come humbly before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders, unity for our country, and His grace upon each of us.

Lutheran Lay Renewal Update
In May of 2018, I was contacted by Rev. Peter Maganda, dean of the Eastern District of the Lutheran Church of Uganda (LCU) and also dean of students at the Lutheran Theological College in Magamaga. He was very interested in our renewal weekend program. We sent him all of our material so that the LCU could start planning renewal weekends for congregations in the Eastern Deanery. Three very successful weekends were held in the fall and, as a result, I was invited by Pastor Peter and Bishop, Rev. Charles Bameka to visit Uganda for nine days in January.
