Update about the DRC and the Confessional Lutheran Church
During the month of August, the condition of the country was in bad shape as they experienced multiple situations of unrest, robbery, kidnapping, and killing. One of the Lutheran pastor’s houses was stormed by insurgents and the entire household was killed. Some church leaders suffered the same consequence on the center-eastern side of the country.
The church opened its doors for worship on August 23, 2020, and the majority of members came back after a long break due to Coronavirus. The church lost few members during the pandemic, but pastors praised God. Mission Trip to Dubai

In February, just prior to the start of the COVID-19 crisis in the USA, together with Rev. Dr. Gemechis Buba, we traveled to Dubai. Pastor Jones represented the NALC Executive Council. Pastor Berthelsen represented Hope Lutheran Church (Cedar Hill, TX), who serves as both a prayer sponsor and a fiscal agent for Pastor Martha Shanka, a new global worker for the NALC.
