Dear Brothers and Sisters!
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! This winter we have a lot of snow! Almost every day it snows! We have had snowy winters for the last three years. It reminds me of my childhood when we had to shovel snow and make snowmen!
This is Pastor Valery Hryhoryk! Your global worker in Belarus! Why have I begun my newsletter in such a strange manner? I am sure you know who I am, however it is always good to remind ourselves who a global worker is. He or she is a person that is sent and supported by the interested party. The Lord said that we need to make disciples in all nations. Belarus is one of them. This country has difficult conditions for ministry and remains hostile to Christ. Brethren, the Lord be with you.
The people in Liberia and Victory Ministries send you greetings in the name of Christ. They continue to be grateful for your faithful and continuous prayers, support and desire to see the Lord work in Liberia and the other West African countries. We are preparing for Victory Ministry’s second annual convocation. The church in Duazon will host us from February 14-17, 2019. Please join us as we review our work, discover our shortfalls, develop a new approach and seek the Spirit’s anointing. This year’s theme is: God’s Spirit Anointing God’s Church.
Last year, Transfiguration Lutheran Church Mission, and several Texas Lutheran churches brought hope and happiness to many poor families during Christmas time in El Salvador. We provided 1000 food baskets and toys for adults and children. In El Salvador, an average family is composed of five members. We helped to provide food for ten days, making a Christmas dinner possible for them. In total, we were able to feed 5000 people. Here is a video that shows the highlights of last year’s event. “Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; let Your good Spirit lead me into a level country and into the land of uprightness.” – Psalm 143:10
Dear Partners in Mission,
It is almost the end of the year 2018, and since we will be out of the DRC on December 13, traveling to the USA to participate in our daughter, Nicole Panzo’s, wedding, we wanted to say thank you to all of you for your prayers, donations of kindness and your thoughts that allowed us to survive on the ground. Also, we thank God, the sustainer and protector of our lives, He is the one who used each of you to be faithful and helpful in our mission in the DRC. With God and you, we were able to accomplish some tasks that we felt were impossible. Continue reading “NALC Global Worker Update – The Panzo Family”
Many people in Southern Sudan are Christians. About two thousand in my village attended a Presbyterian mission church. People prayed to God every day. They prayed just as the psalmist did. Then one day our faith was greatly tested. Psalm 44 applies to my experience in Southern Sudan. Continue reading “NALC Global Worker Update – Pastor James Puotyual”
A small team departed for Russia on October 24th, in order to lead an EEMN Friendship English Language School at the Lutheran Church in Kondopoga. The 2016 Russin Yarovaya Law has significantly restricted the way churches and foreign missionaries may function in the Russian Federation. However, the law does not forbid our activity, nor quench the thirst people have for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Continue reading “Update from NALC Ministry Partner – EEMN”
During this Advent season, as we anticipate the incarnation, Immanuel, God with us, we hear the admonition to be ready, to watch. We will remember God’s preparation for His Son to enter our world through Mary, Joseph and John the Baptist who was preparing the way. We also remember their long journey as strangers in a strange land. We remember the neglect of those around them forcing the Holy Family to a cow stall for Christ’s birth. Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ-
My wife, Nyandit, and I will be missionaries in the refugee camp in Gambella, Ethiopia, beginning January 2019, working with EECMY and the Lutheran Church of South Sudan. We will be living in the southern part of Ethiopia. We already know the Gambella area because we were born there. We know the Ethiopian people, their society and much of the economy.
