Update about the DRC and the Confessional Lutheran Church
During the month of August, the condition of the country was in bad shape as they experienced multiple situations of unrest, robbery, kidnapping, and killing. One of the Lutheran pastor’s houses was stormed by insurgents and the entire household was killed. Some church leaders suffered the same consequence on the center-eastern side of the country.
The church opened its doors for worship on August 23, 2020, and the majority of members came back after a long break due to Coronavirus. The church lost few members during the pandemic, but pastors praised God. As doors are open for worship, they are also conducting door-to-door visits for discipleship.

Lutherans will necessarily remember Martin Luther’s Small Catechism, affirming the first article of the Apostle’s Creed: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
And the subsequent question: What does this mean?
The Catechism explains: I believe that God has made me and all that exists. He has given me and still preserves my body and soul with all their powers. He provides me with food and clothing, home and family, daily work, and all I need from day to day. God also protects me in time of danger and guards me from every evil. All this he does out of fatherly and divine goodness and mercy, though I do not deserve it. Therefore I surely ought to thank and praise, serve and obey him. This is most certainly true. San Miguel Lutheran Church is a thriving Spanish-speaking ministry and NALC congregation in Fort Worth, Texas. More than six years ago, San Miguel left their former church body and joined the NALC, of which they have greatly appreciated being a member congregation. On an average Sunday, 200 to 300 people join together to worship in Spanish. They are served by Pastor Juan Portillo.
