As a whole, the North American Lutheran Church is on solid financial footing, but operating expenses have exceeded income over the past few years.
While the budget is not yet balanced, I am glad to report that significant progress has been made in reducing these operating deficits.
The NALC is committed to the renewal of all our congregations, working to develop and deliver resources that challenge and open the NALC to the work of the Holy Spirit in our ministry and mission. During Lutheran Week in Denver, the Mission Festival is designed to inspire and serve as a resource to congregations. This includes specific “break out” sessions on a variety of topics. The second annual North American Lutheran Church Senior Adult Ministry Conference will be held on October 30-31 at Reformation Lutheran Church, Culpeper, Virginia. It will begin at 8:00am on October 30 and conclude at Noon on October 31. Topics covered will include: renewing the congregation through older adults, developing a discipleship centered senior adult ministry, compelling mature adults to follow the call to service, and incorporating an inter-generational ministry into the life of the local church.
