As it is written in Psalm 107:2: “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story, those he has redeemed from the foe.” It is through each of us telling the story of what Jesus Christ has done for us through his death and resurrection that changes everything. In John 4, we read how the Samaritan woman shared the story of what Jesus had said and done, and because of her testimony – the whole village believed. Whether it is through countless other examples of stories in Scripture, or the same phenomenon we see occurring in our world today with friends, family, and even strangers – God calls us to tell our stories. When we begin to tell our stories, we realize they are not really “ours” but “his.” Through telling these stories – the body of Christ is built up, strengthened in faith, and knit together. Welcome to MissionConnect – we are “living on mission, telling our stories.”

Disaster Preparedness and Response Training

Join us on July 17th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm and July 18th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM for NALC Disaster Response Volunteer Training. Through Redeemer Lutheran Church in Owosso, Michigan, we are offering the training online. We are looking forward to an interactive session and lots of opportunities for our congregations to serve when disasters strike. The Academy – July 2020

The NALC is committed to the renewal of all our congregations, working to develop and deliver resources that challenge and open the NALC to the work of the Holy Spirit in our ministry and mission.

Join us for a special session of The Academy: Seeds For A Culture Change. Throughout society, as well as the mission and ministry of the church, some forced paradigm shifts have been happening, that this pandemic has now blown wide open. We don’t know what it will look like going forward, but it will be different. But what can we plant now while the ground is torn up? What seeds can be put in the system to grow from later as new norms are put in place post-pandemic?

The Once And Future Church

The Great Commission Society’s Mission Connectors team is about encouraging congregations and mission districts to make relational mission connections. The vision of the NALC that every congregation is in relationship with at least one local, one domestic, and one global mission partnership. Our team helps by preparing mission-focused resources and training, being available to coach leaders and teams, and by calling every mission district and mission region, at least once a year. The purpose of these calls is to pray with the leaders, to hear how the Holy Spirit is moving in their district, and to encourage them as they serve God’s kingdom.

Mission Driven – Update

In these days where we have sheltered in place, we have been called for a season to remain behind closed doors for the love of our neighbor. We dearly miss the opportunity to gather face to face and to have the gift of a building we can regularly use. It has been a profound challenge not to gather face to face in this season. It has renewed our gratitude for the abundance with which we have been blessed and strengthened our prayer for the persecuted church around the world, for whom this is the norm.
