Evangeliphobia – An Unnatural Fear of the Word “Evangelism”

 

“Evangeliphobia” is not a real word, but it does describe a real fear. Just the thought of talking to people, outside of their inner circle, about something as intimate as faith can induce an almost catatonic state in some of our most faithful members. Why is this? Dear Brothers and Sisters!

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! This winter we have a lot of snow! Almost every day it snows! We have had snowy winters for the last three years. It reminds me of my childhood when we had to shovel snow and make snowmen!

This is Pastor Valery Hryhoryk! Your global worker in Belarus! Why have I begun my newsletter in such a strange manner? I am sure you know who I am, however it is always good to remind ourselves who a global worker is. He or she is a person that is sent and supported by the interested party. The Lord said that we need to make disciples in all nations. Belarus is one of them. Mission Driven – 20/19 Vision: Better Than Good

The Academy continues to strive to inspire congregations and leaders to embrace the NALC’s Core Value – Mission Driven.

During February’s session of The Academy, we dove deep into some of the foundational and practical elements of leadership, also keeping before us what it means to help people recognize and trust God’s voice and character through the Word of God.  The NALC’s Renewal Team is excited to deliver a series of resources during the remainder of February that both challenge and open the NALC to the work of the Holy Spirit in our ministry and mission.
