Life Together – The Classic Exploration of Christian Community

The Great Commission Society’s Mission Connectors team is about encouraging congregations and mission districts to make relational mission connections. The vision of the NALC that every congregation is in relationship with at least one local, one domestic, and one global mission partnership. Our team helps by preparing mission-focused resources and training, being available to coach leaders and teams, and by calling every mission district and mission region, at least once a year. The purpose of these calls is to pray with the leaders, to hear how the Holy Spirit is moving in their district, and to encourage them as they serve God’s kingdom.

Mission Update – Transfiguration Lutheran Church

The last fifteen months my merciful God has blessed Transfiguration Lutheran Church in many ways. Our call to help with word and sacrament to many people in the middle of COVID-19 has been a special challenge. But I want to let you know that I was blessed because I already received the COVID-19 vaccine. God safe me from this mortal pandemic and I so glad for his mercy and blessing, in the midst of many people who still are suffering in our communities.

The Academy – April 2021

Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a world that is in desperate need of the Good News. We propose to do this by networking congregations and individuals who have a passion for the proclamation of the Gospel and a commitment to the calling of the Great Commission.  In Matthew 28, we read: “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Mission is the driver – the force, the inspiration behind everything that we do.  Everything that we do, if we don’t have mission attached to it, is going to be meaningless.  The church exists in obedience and fulfillment of the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mission Driven Update – Chelsea Smith

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this: that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” – Philippians 1:3-11

Mission Driven – India Transformed

Please join India Transformed! for our monthly, “Live Updates from India with our founder John Peter” on the first Thursday of each month at 6pm MST. We will share stories of how God is miraculously moving through India and transforming lives through our Community Transformation Centers, Women’s Empowerment Program and Children’s ministry.  Due to the rise of Christian persecution taking place in India, all attendees must pre-register to attend so we can verify your status.  This is open to all NALC members.  Register in advance for this webinar:  http://bit.ly/3bJM0We

Despite the pandemic, the NALC network made 2020 a tremendous year!
We are humbled and honored by your faithfulness and the trust you place in us to be good stewards with your generous donations. You have brought so much joy to the children, women and communities we serve in India that it warms our hearts.

Highlights of 2020 include:

  • caring for 469 Dalit children and bringing them hope and joy
  • teaching 180 women in the ARISE! Program with employable skills
  • training over 60 Community Transformation Workers to reach 2,350 families with the Good News
  • expanding the Private School to add grades 11 and 12 to increase enrollment by 500 students

Global Worker Update – The Pfisters

It is with thankful hearts that we are able to say that we made it safely back to the states in December with negative Covid tests on both ends. As we shared in our last email we are planning to be in the states until the end of February as a short furlough with time to rest, regroup and take care of some things before we head back to Bulgaria for the spring. We have had a wonderful time with our family these past few weeks and while we are not able to see many of you in person due to the virus situation, it has been a blessing to see those of you that we can during this time. We do hope that we are able to connect with more of you either in person or virtually in the coming weeks while we are stateside.

From Ashes To Easter – A Lenten Devotional

A time of repentance, reflection and renewal has been practiced by Christians as a 40-day season (excluding Sundays) from the fourth century to the present day. Lent had its roots in baptismal preparation, fasting before celebration of Easter, and renewed baptismal commitment for those who had fallen away from the faith.

This booklet offers short, to-the-point devotions that do not take much time so that you may find joy in the simple Lenten discipline of daily devotions. Ways to access the devotional: From Ashes To Easter – Lenten Devotional.
